Coventry University

Our research in Mobility & Transport investigates future transport systems, including the growing influence of the internet and connectivity. It covers automotive, aerospace, maritime and rail.

The focus is on safe, efficient and accessible transport integrating the strongest research elements in design, computing and engineering. It builds on the historic strengths of Coventry University, including the largest automotive design course in the world and our international reputation in automotive and aviation engineering.

Future transport systems have a number of high level aims including ambitions to eliminate road fatalities, reduce congestion, to provide users with seamless integrated and connected transport systems, to eliminate emissions and to develop vehicles and systems that use lightweight, efficient and recycled materials.

Consumers will also want to have comfortable and predictable journeys that increasingly allow them to make use of the time for work and leisure. In this area automation and connectivity have a massive role to play.

Our centre has current projects in all of the following areas: vehicle design and styling, vehicle electrification, structural optimisation and light-weighting, wireless sensing, vehicle dynamics and safety, aerospace engineering, control systems, cyber security and human systems integration.

Rewarding stakeholders is transformed by blockchain technology. Whether you’re working on connected cars, public transport, or autonomous vehicles, the DOV token facilitates a new transfer of value. DOV is a token you earn and spend by sharing and changing the way you travel. This could take the form of sharing data, or for example, rewarding green behaviour. These tokens then feed back into the ecosystem through mobility related transactions, be that offsetting the cost of a car, fuel for that car, paying for a flight, or just riding the bus. Connecting closed ecosystems, the DOV token is ubiquitous, providing instant liquidity and utility.

Driverless.global is a specialist online resource, focusing on Driverless / Autonomous Vehicles, related Technologies and all aspects of the ever changing world of Transportation. We have a wide, increasing range of categories. Add your own Company Listings, Industry Events, Related Articles, Products & Services, Jobs and Opportunities.

Liftango uses GPS to match up drivers and passengers for rideshares and provides updates on pick-up status. This reassures passengers that their ride is on the way -- and eliminates any worries about missed connections. Plus, passengers don't need to call drivers about pick ups and create unnecessary disruptions.

The result: fewer distracted drivers and safer roads.

We brought our Liftango concept to the National Roads and Motorists' Association (NRMA) -- and earned acceptance into the NRMA Jumpstart program run by Slingshot. This prestigious program provides emerging businesses with capital, expert mentoring, and access to high-profile potential customers.
